Great career growth opportunity as an Intelligence Officer within Corrections Victoria An ongoing, full-time role working with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service VPS Grade 3: $79,122 - $96,073 plus superannuation About the Business Unit: Corrections Victoria operates Victoria's adult corrections system. It ensures prisoners are safely and securely contained and aims to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour. Corrections Victoria Intelligence Service (CVIS) is the overarching intelligence service for Corrections Victoria (CV) and its stakeholders. CVIS is comprised of the primary intelligence unit known as the Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit (CVIU) as well as localised prison intelligence units and within Post Sentence Facilities across Victoria. CVIU has a key role in CV's Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Service Delivery Model and the early identification of individuals who may pose a violent extremism risk. CVIU provide operational and tactical intelligence support for internal and external stakeholders for the cohort to ensure risk is mitigated. About the Role: The position of Corrections Intelligence Officer is within CVIU and has a primary role of providing operational support for all intelligence related matters conducted by the CVIU. The position reports to an Intelligence Manager and contributes to tactical, operational and strategic intelligence functions to inform stakeholders decision making. Some of your other duties will include: Preparing intelligence reports and briefings for senior management. Supporting CV Management, staff, and external agencies by assisting in the development and planning of intelligence-led operations. Liaising with key external agencies and stakeholders, some of which include law enforcement, intelligence agencies and other correctional agencies. Knowledge of Corrections Victoria policies, procedures and relevant legislation, including an understanding of a corrections environment. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and information management systems and other data managing technologies is highly desirable. Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications or thematic knowledge (desirable). An Australian Citizen and an existing Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance, otherwise one must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
