What you'll deliver with us
Reporting to the Data Science and AI Manager, this role partners with technical and business stakeholders to deliver data science and AI solutions, including GenAI and agentic AI, within a hyperscale environment. The role supports a broad portfolio of initiatives such as network optimisation, pricing modelling, customer insights, forecasting, AI democratisation, marketing technology, and retail analytics. You will be working across end-to-end AI and data science processes (e.g. CRISP-DM). Part of an established team, our Data Scientists collaborate closely with technical and business peers to trial new approaches and productionise enterprise solutions. They also contribute to the development of a thriving data‐science and AI craft at Post and support colleagues in the field to unlock business value leveraging data‐enabled capabilities. The team must be comfortable working with a level of ambiguity and Fail‐Fast Fail‐Early Fail‐Smart and Rapid Prototyping. This role involves conceptual modelling of business processes vs available data, and validating and refining with business with prompt and pro‐active engagement, leveraging data‐ and hypothesis‐driven approaches.

* Focus on multiple domains including AI use‐cases leveraging GenAI and AgenticAI, AI platform craft and patterns development, ML, statistical analyses and modelling, optimisation of network operations, forecasting, pricing modelling and optimization.
* Design, build, train, evaluate, deploy and monitor models from Exploration/Discovery/Experimentation to POC to production‐grade (enterprise‐scale in hyper‐scalar AI platform - GCP and Google VertexAI).
* Build strong relationships with customers, business partners, and peers; seeking connections that recognise the unique value of every individual and promote empowering work practices.
* Collaborate with other AI practitioners, contribute to the AI craft and AI technical patterns in our AI platform (Google Cloud VertexAI) to drive viable solutions.
* Provide advisory services to enable colleagues and the broader business to leverage data‐science/AI/ML effectively.
* Translation of business problems into requirements that can be solved via data‐science/AI.
* Lead the end‐to‐end development and delivery of data‐science/AI solutions and support business adoption/ operationalisation.
About you
You're a team player who enjoys building great relationships and working closely with the business to deliver real value. In this role, you'll collaborate with AI/ML engineers, AI Services teams, enterprise services and business teams. With a wide range of stakeholders, you'll need strong communication skills, a pragmatic mindset, and a natural curiosity to help turn ideas into practical, impactful solutions. We are quite a quirky team that is made up of people from different backgrounds. If you have an interesting/non‐typical experience we'd love to hear from you too. Quantitative skills including maths, statistics, econometrics, engineering, sciences, software, finance, economics are all transferable.
You'll also need
* Industry experience delivering data science, AI Engineering or AI outcomes in an enterprise environment
* Technical depth across one or more of : data science, advanced analytics, AI/ML, AI/ML engineering, LLMs/GenAI, Agentic AI, Conversational AI data engineering
* A traditional data scientist background isn't essential. We welcome candidates with strong personal projects, PhDs (data analysis), or non‐traditional but relevant degrees
* Leadership potential and ability to show initiative. You are excited to teach and/or learn from the people around you. Being kind, curious and openminded is key in this team.
* Experience with analytics and/or MLOps orchestration tools and frameworks (e.g. Apache Airflow, dbt, CloudComposer or similar)
* Strong programming skills (e.g. python, R, SQL) and data technologies skills (cloud, AIOps/MLOps)
* Proven use of AI for productivity in previous work - Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude or other
* Comfortable working with large data sets in a hyperscaler environment and understanding of AI/ML platforms (VertexAI or equivalent), including code management tools
