About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer Apps, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and evolving business critical applications that support our legal teams and clients. This is a senior technical role where you will lead by example, owning complex engineering problems and helping shape the technical direction across both legacy and modern platforms. You will work across two core systems. One is a long standing on premises .NET application that underpins key workflows. The other is a modern React web application with a C# backend hosted in AWS. Your focus will be on ensuring both systems are secure, scalable, reliable, and able to evolve together. This role is ideal for a senior engineer who enjoys being hands on, influencing technical decisions, and lifting engineering standards across a team, without moving into people management.
What you'll do
* Lead the design and delivery of high quality features across on premises .NET applications and cloud hosted React and C# solutions
* Solve complex technical problems with autonomy, applying strong architectural principles and modern design patterns
* Identify and implement opportunities to improve performance, reliability, security, and maintainability across legacy and modern platforms
* Contribute to and uphold technical standards, coding practices, and quality benchmarks across engineering teams
* Review designs and code with a strong focus on quality, performance, security, and compliance
* Build and maintain automated testing across front end, API, and integration layers
What will you bring?
You will bring deep expertise in C# and .NET, including ASP.NET, Web API, and .NET Core, along with strong experience working in enterprise environments. You will be confident supporting and improving on premises systems using Windows Server, IIS, and SQL Server, and comfortable balancing legacy constraints with modern engineering practices. You will have solid experience building React front end applications that consume .NET APIs, and a strong understanding of Agile delivery ways of working. Just as importantly, you will have excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will be someone who takes ownership, enjoys mentoring others, and is motivated by improving engineering standards and outcomes.
