In this role, you'll be responsible for providing hands-on maintenance expertise and support in-house and to a range of customers across a range of mechanical engineering systems.This will require advising, training and undertaking machining, fitting, assembling, manufacturing, and maintaining mechanical components and systems using a range of hand tools, machines, and technical drawings.
This position requires advanced skills, precision, a strong grasp of machining processes, and the ability to interpret technical specifications accurately.Your qualifications:You should ideally hold a relevant Diploma level qualification.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required as an alternative.Candidates with post-qualification experience on conventional manual lathes and milling machines will be at an advantage.
Experience with white metal would be highly desirable.Your attributes:Experienced in developing, implementing and managing preventive maintenance programmes in collaboration with Engineers.Ability to provide diagnosis and resolution of mechanical issues affecting the operation of engineering production equipment.Ability to assemble and install new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and to assist with hydraulic power systems if required.
· Confident in setting up and operating lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, and other workshop equipment.
· Ability to fault-find and identify technical errors.
· Able to read and understand technical drawings and specification documents to prepare diagrammes if required.
· High attention to detail.
· Proficient with measuring tools and capable of performing complex measurements and computations.
· Skilled at analyzing processes and identifying efficiency improvements.
· Able to plan, schedule, and anticipate task requirements proactively to meet deadlines.
· Expert in performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on mechanical systems.
· Strong problem-solving attitude, with a focus on finding positive solutions.
· Organised and efficient in data recording and documentation.
· Committed to health & safety and quality compliance.
· Willing to assist both customers and team members when needed.
· Self-motivated, with a positive mindset and a strong drive for productivity.To apply you will need:· To be a New Zealand citizen, resident, or have the appropriate work visa.
· A clear criminal history.
· An excellent command of written and spoken English language.
· To be able to pass a pre-employment drug and medical test.
· To have at least two working references.
