About the role
The Compliance Officer (Vehicle Standards) checks that service providers, including Licensed Vehicle Testers, Vehicle Identity Validation inspectors, Alternative Fuel Systems assessors and Alcohol Interlock providers, follow registration and licensing rules. They use their technical knowledge to find non-compliance and support risk-based compliance activities. The role provides clear advice and reports to senior leaders to help them make informed decisions. They work closely with internal teams and external providers to improve understanding and performance. Success in this role helps keep vehicle standards high, supports road safety, and ensures regulatory requirements are applied fairly and consistently.

You're someone who:
* Enjoys working with technical standards and legislation, and applying your knowledge to real compliance issues.
* Can interpret vehicle standards, laws and design rules to assess registration compliance.
* Can analyse complex problems, identify trends, and make practical recommendations to improve compliance outcomes.
* Can use compliance frameworks, systems and tools to plan, prioritise and deliver work to agreed standards.
* Can write clear, well-structured reports for senior leaders and build strong relationships to manage challenging conversations and achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications and experience
You'll bring:
* Recognised formal vehicle engineering or vehicle trade qualifications in an automotive vehicle mechanical discipline, including a formal licensed vehicle tester (LVT) accreditation or an ability to gain admission to become an accredited LVT.
