Job description:
We are a newly launched GP medical centre seeking a competent and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our growing team.
This role is suited to someone with at least 1 year of experience working in a general practice, who is comfortable using Best Practice software and has exposure to Workers Compensation and CTP administrative processes .
As an early team member, you will play an important role in establishing efficient front-desk, billing, and insurer-related workflows.
Key Responsibilities
* Front desk reception, patient check-in, and appointment scheduling using Best Practice software
* Managing phone enquiries and correspondence with patients, insurers, employers, and allied health providers
* Workers Compensation and CTP administration, including:
* Managing claim details and insurer communications
* Uploading and tracking certificates, reports, and invoices
* Following up outstanding invoices and chasing payments from insurers
* Liaising with case managers and rehab providers
* Billing, invoicing, Medicare processing, and accurate data entry
* Maintaining accurate patient and claim records
* General administrative support to doctors and practice management
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 1 year experience as a medical receptionist in a general practice
* Working proficiency with Best Practice Practice Management Software (PMS)
* Experience or working knowledge of Workers Compensation and CTP workflows
* Confidence communicating with insurers and following up outstanding accounts
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Professional phone manner and clear written communication skills
* Ability to work independently in a busy clinical environment
* Reliability, discretion, and a patient-focused approach
Highly Regarded
* Experience dealing with NSW insurers (e.g. EML, Allianz, QBE, etc.)
* Prior involvement in billing, invoicing and especially chasing outstanding invoices
* Experience working in a new or growing medical practice
