About the Role
We're looking for a capable, hands‐on Accounts Assistant to join our team in a part‐time, client‐facing role. You'll work onsite with clients 4–5 days per week during school hours (Monday to Friday) and take ownership of day‐to‐day bookkeeping, payroll support, and month‐end compliance tasks using Xero.
This role suits someone who enjoys structure, deadlines, and being the go‐to person for keeping accounts running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the accounts inbox and respond to client queries
* Bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
* Payroll processing and STP lodgements
* End‐to‐end accounts payable and accounts receivable
* Cashflow support and keeping payments/invoicing moving
* Monthly compliance including BAS preparation/lodgement, super, and WA payroll tax
* End‐of‐month reporting for key stakeholders
* Managing client files across a variety of industries
* Troubleshooting and supporting clients with cloud accounting systems
* Working closely with business owners to support better decision‐making
Who We're Looking For
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
* Intermediate level Xero functionality including report generation, chart of accounts management
* Confident in payroll processing, reconciliations, and GST compliance
* Full cycle payroll processing experience including employee setup, leave calculations, superannuation processing, and year‐end procedures
* Highly organised with great attention to detail and time management
* A clear communicator who builds strong relationships with clients and the team
* Curious, proactive, and keen to learn — especially around tech and systems
* Able to work independently while also being a great team player
* Available to work onsite Monday to Friday, school hours
* Australian permanent residency or citizenship required
