Position Title: Visiting Medical Officer – Gastroenterology – Blue Mountains
Hours: 200 hours

Location: Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital, Department of General Medicine – Gastroenterology.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for protected clinical decisions in the specialty of Gastroenterology.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Assist the Department Head in implementing and developing appropriate clinical outcome measures.
- Resolve conflicts and maintain productive working relationships within the team.
- Provide excellent clinical care in the General Medicine Department of Blue Mountains Hospital.
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Adult Medicine Division, Australia, or equivalent.
- Evidence of continuing medical education and self‐monitoring/audit practices consistent with scope of practice requirements.
- Sound clinical knowledge in General Medicine with a specialty in Gastroenterology, demonstrated through successful clinical practice and participation in quality assurance activities.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision of junior medical staff, consistent with contemporary best practice standards.
- Sound knowledge of the subspecialty of Gastroenterology, demonstrated by relevant qualifications and/or post‐Fellowship clinical experience.
Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997 and the Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2007. Employees and contractors must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
