About the Role

We are seeking a NV2, Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support the development, build, configuration, and sustainment of a secure stand-alone network environment. Working under the direction of the Solutions Architect and Project Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in engineering, implementing, and maintaining critical infrastructure components prior to deployment into a production environment.

This role will focus on hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), virtualisation, container platforms, and secure infrastructure engineering, ensuring systems are designed, deployed, and maintained in line with strict security and operational standards.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

* Support the development, build, configuration, and sustainment of a secure stand-alone network environment.
* Perform infrastructure build, configuration, patching, and update activities.
* Develop and maintain build instructions and technical documentation.
* Assist the Solutions Architect with infrastructure and platform design.
* Collaborate with engineering teams and security operations to ensure systems integration and alignment with security best practices.
* Communicate project priorities and coordinate work across Infrastructure, Unified Communications, and Network teams.
* Ensure all work follows the engineering lifecycle processes, including the use of ITSM tools to record change, release, deployment, and configuration management activities.

Requirements and Experience

* Translate platform and infrastructure requirements into engineering features under architectural guidance.
* Design, deploy, and manage the lifecycle of infrastructure technology stacks.
* Ensure high availability, performance optimisation, and fault tolerance of infrastructure components.
* Enforce strict access control, patching procedures, and configuration baselines.
* Manage secure patching and update processes within isolated environments.
* Lead engineering planning and readiness activities for workload migration to Red Hat OpenShift.
* Conduct root cause analysis and recovery activities for infrastructure incidents.
* Guide operations teams, engineers, and administrators to ensure alignment with operational goals.
* Build technical capability within operational teams to support ongoing platform administration.
* Maintain architecture diagrams, SOPs, and detailed technical documentation.
* Evaluate hybrid infrastructure models (virtual machines and containers) during transition phases.
* Oversee installation, racking, cabling, configuration, and capacity planning of Dell server infrastructure.
* Administer Dell iDRAC, including performance monitoring, security compliance, and hardware recovery processes.
* Collaborate with engineering teams on containerisation and platform modernisation strategies.
* Monitor system resources and plan for future infrastructure capacity and scalability.
* Support preparation for future integration with disconnected or edge container clusters.
* Mentor engineering teams on VMware and container platform technologies.
* NV2 required
