About the Role Our client is a federal government agency based in Phillip, ACT. They are currently seeking 3x Finance Auditors at either APS6 or EL1 level to come in and join their team on a 3 month temp contract with possible extensions.
Candidates for this role must have: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or similar Demonstrated experience in auditing leave balances
Background in Payroll or related field Advanced proficiency with MS Excel Australian Citizenship (Federal Government requirement)
Key responsibilities will include: Comprehensive Leave Auditing: Execute a detailed audit of annual, personal, long service, and prior service leave balances for a workforce of up to 530 employees to ensure data integrity. System Reconciliation: Perform rigorous cross-referencing between legacy and new systems to identify data migration gaps and ensure continuity of employee records.
Discrepancy Analysis: Utilise advanced spreadsheet functions to manually analyze, validate, and document leave data inconsistencies with a high level of accuracy. Technical Reporting: Prepare structured, data-driven reports that clearly outline identified errors and provide actionable recommendations for balance corrections. Rectification Support: Assist in the end-to-end remediation process by preparing and organizing the necessary documentation for adjustments and compliance.
Records Management: Maintain a systematic filing and documentation process for all audit findings to support future compliance reviews and internal queries. About You
You will be an experienced Finance Auditor with previous experience and reliability in previous roles. The successful candidate will possess: Demonstrated experience in auditing leave balances.
Background in payroll, finance or a related field. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Needs to be able to start immediately
