Overview
Wood is recruiting an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at the Ampol Refinery in Brisbane. This is a 10-month contract with the opportunity to provide technical support in electrical, instrumentation and control engineering in the brownfields and refining facilities.
Reporting to the E&I; Engineering Superintendent, this role will use fault finding expertise to assist in returning the equipment to service and to apply appropriate measures to prevent or reduce the potential for fault re-occurrence and be responsible for completing electrical and instrumentation design work for selected projects. At this time, we will only consider applications from Australian citizens or those with the required permit/VISA to work in this region.
Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor E&I; supervisors and technicians in troubleshooting methodologies and understanding technical aspects of E&I; equipment
- Assist the Project and the Reliability & Maintenance team in identifying training requirements to ensure minimum standards of competency are maintained by the electrical and instrumentation employees
- Work closely with the E&I; Project and the Reliability team to ensure that equipment upgrades are implemented in compliance with Ampol Refinery standards
- Ensure projects are finalised with all documentation and training obligations having been fulfilled
- Completes electrical and instrumentation design work for nominated capital projects
- Review MOC, audits, and investigations to ensure all requirements are progressing to plan/dates
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure any upcoming shared actions/deliverables are on track
- Interface with stakeholders and ensure day to day, week to week and month to month work scope, issues, deadlines, meetings, work progress and completions are met as required
- Identify, conduct and support problem solving
- Where necessary the role shall require the coordination of E&I; activities in the assigned area out of normal working hours
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering – Electrical Systems. Registered Qualified Engineer QLD (RPEQ) or eligible to be chartered
- TUV Functional Safety certification
- Dual trade (Instrumentation or Control Systems), desirable
- 10 to 15 years Oil Industry experience as E&I; Engineer with demonstrated experience in a Supervisory capacity
- Enterprise Resource Programs and Maintenance applications experience
- Sound knowledge of EH&S; requirements in the Oil & Gas Industry. Intimate practical knowledge of Hazardous Area and Electrical Safety standards and legislation
- Demonstrated competency within High Voltage Isolation and Access, desirable
