Key Responsibilities:
Prepares/updates NGCP’s Transmission Planning Standards and Process Improvement Manuals. Conducts technical studies on transmission development for the continuous improvement of the Philippine power grid. Conducts Techno‑Economic Feasibility Studies on island/off‑grid areas for interconnections to the main grid, including project planning and development activities. Prepares Project Application Documents (PAD) for capital expenditure application to the ERC to secure approval of Small Islands and Off‑grid Interconnection Projects.
* Explore planning process improvements including grid integration for possible application of new and emerging technologies
* Responsible for formulating prudent justifications for the proposed Small Islands and Off‑grid Interconnection Projects of the NGCP to ensure approval of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC)
* Uphold the plans and program of NGCP for the benefit of grid users and protect its interest in the outside community
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Registered Electrical Engineer
4 years of relevant experience, 1 year of which in a Senior Engineer capacity preferably in power system planning and transmission project planning/development
Knowledgeable in power system analysis and computer programming
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
Good communication skills - in both oral and written
Team player and could work with minimum supervision
