About the role

What you'll work on
Your work will span across pricing, valuation, forecasting, capital management, and market analysis. You'll also be encouraged to share ideas, spot opportunities to improve processes, and be part of broader business initiatives that drive Challenger's success.
About you
To be eligible for our graduate programme, you'll need to have recently completed (or be close to completing) a relevant actuarial undergraduate or post graduate degree. You'll have a genuine desire for a career as an Actuary in Life Insurance and be motivated long term to work towards your Actuarial qualifications. We value well‑rounded individuals who bring curiosity, initiative, and a strong work ethic.
We'd love to hear from you if you can demonstrate some of the following:
* Proven work experience such as part-time work, internships, tutoring, or involvement in student or community groups
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment
* Interest in financial markets and insurance products
* Problem-solving and analytical skills, with great attention to detail
* Confidence with Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

About our Actuarial Team and business areas
The Actuarial team has a wide range of responsibilities across both sides of the balance sheet, integral to everything that happens within the Life Company and supporting the Appointed Actuary in their statutory duties. Challenger operates two core investment businesses - a fiduciary Funds Management division and an APRA regulated Life division.
Life focuses on the retirement spending phase of superannuation, providing products that help customers convert retirement savings into safe and secure income in retirement. Funds Management focuses on wealth accumulation predominantly in the preretirement phase by supporting customers to build their savings by providing investment strategies and products that seek to deliver superior investment returns.
