The Job Overview
* We seek a senior professional with extensive technical knowledge to manage our Protection & Control team.
* A key aspect of this position will be driving forward-looking strategies for protection systems, SCADA, and automation assets.
* Strong leadership skills are required to ensure alignment with AEMO regulations and overall business objectives.
About You
You'll be a strategic leader with deep technical credibility and 10+ years' leadership experience in utilities, energy, or similar complex environments.
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
* Expertise in Protection & Control systems, SCADA, automation, and asset management.
* Strong understanding of Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.
* Proven ability to lead large projects, improve processes, and build high-performing teams.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both technical and non-technical.
* High commercial and strategic acumen, focusing on delivering value while mitigating risk.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Lead the Protection & Control function to achieve performance targets and mitigate system risks.
* Develop long-term strategies for protection systems, SCADA, and automation assets.
* Oversee field delivery to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
* Provide expert support during outages, investigations, and major incidents.
* Implement best-practice processes across the function.
* Identify and resolve critical risks through collaboration and influence.
* Drive digitalisation through secondary systems, automation, and new protection technologies.
* Buildequipped workforce plans to meet cyber, compliance, and operational demands.
* Influence quality assurance across field operations, engineering, and asset management.
