About the team Deloitte's Infrastructure & Real Estate team is made up of over 200 experts, working on some of the most high-profile infrastructure and government service projects. We offer a collaborative environment where you'll work closely with industry leaders who are passionate about your professional growth. Our team's work spans the entire infrastructure lifecycle, including: Policy development Strategy development including master/precinct and portfolio planning Business case preparation Procurement process design and execution Commercial advisory and negotiations Construction project management and contract administration Project and program management Transaction advisory Physical infrastructure asset advisory And we work across a range of public and private sectors, such as: Defence, Federal & ACT Government Public transport Justice and Security Education Sports and Recreation Ports and economic infrastructure Precincts and urban renewal Residential, commercial, and industrial Health and Human services What will your typical day look like? Expect to work closely with our clients, helping to address 'front-page' and 'big-ticket' issues. On a day-to-day basis you might find yourself: Collaborating with government and stakeholders to shape the next generation of infrastructure and real estate delivery. Undertaking commercial and financial analysis, designing commercial frameworks and optimising procurement strategies. Analysing an infrastructure network's performance and future requirements using the latest tools and technologies to identify opportunities and risk. Playing key functional roles in Program Management Offices (PMOs) of major Defence infrastructure programs. Conducting analysis to identify opportunities and risks in infrastructure projects. Leading large-scale government tender processes to ensure value for money. Managing high-profile, complex infrastructure projects across various sectors. Enough about us, let's talk about you. As an Associate Director / Senior Manager, you would be expected to lead high-value sales efforts and mobilise resources while holding self and others accountable for sales pipeline, lead multiple engagements and deliver exceptional quality results and stakeholder value by leveraging each person's strengths to build high performing teams, contribute to building a diverse talent pipeline creating a talent experience that attracts, develops and retains diverse top talent, and collaborate to leverage networks and people across Deloitte to harness the depth and breadth of Deloitte. We are looking for the following must haves: A deep commitment to public sector work and a strategic understanding of government investment drivers, particularly in complex or high-stakes environments. Exceptional communication and writing skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders and diverse audiences. A proactive, solutions-focused leadership style with a strong appetite for mentoring others and fostering team development. Proven ability to build and maintain high-performing teams, and demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary or cross-functional groups. A relevant tertiary qualification and/or significant equivalent experience in a senior leadership capacity. An Australian Government Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain one). You may also have the following skills / experiences, which would be valuable to the role: Substantial experience in leading public sector procurement processes, infrastructure delivery programs, or complex commercial arrangements—including financial and economic modelling, contract design, and strategic advisory services. Advanced quantitative analysis capabilities, with a track record of applying financial and economic insights to inform executive-level decision-making. Demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects or overseeing contract performance in Defence, Government, or relevant private sector contexts. Professional background in infrastructure, industrials, real estate, engineering or trade, with the ability to integrate technical and policy considerations. Experience working with or within the Australian Defence Force (reservists and veterans strongly encouraged to apply). Understanding of Australian and/or ACT Government structures, operations, and stakeholder environments. Don't currently live in Canberra? No problem!
