Walliston Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint an organised and dedicated Cleaner in Charge to join our school.
We are seeking an individual with good interpersonal and communication skills and has the ability to induct, coordinate and supervise the cleaning staff.
As a Cleaner in Charge, your role includes liaising with the Manager Corporate Services (MCS) on all cleaning matters, ensuring advice and support is current, relevant and consistent with the Department’s policies, training and procedures on school cleaning. You would monitor and manage staff leave entitlement in consultation with the MCS along with conducting monthly cleaning inspections with the MCS.
Walliston PS is located in a bushland setting at one of the highest points in the hills, east of the city of Perth. 1. good interpersonal and communication skills.
2. ability to induct, coordinate and supervise the work of cleaning staff.
3. experience in school or commercial cleaning.
4. experience in the safe storage of cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals.
5. ability to recognise and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions, safety instructions and training guidelines.

15. online training in manual tasks and hazardous substances within three months of commencement
16. Fundamentals of Cleaning training as soon as practicable
17. training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
18. training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
The Department applies a ten (10) day breach period to this selection process.
