About the role
We are looking for Hospital Assistants to help the Nursing staff with non‑medical duties including housekeeping, portering patients, food preparation and general assistance. As an integral member of our team you will be valued and your dedication will be recognized by our community, patients, residents and your team.
This varied and interesting role may include transferring patients within the hospital, linen maintenance & medical supply restocking, cooking and/or preparing light refreshments for patients and residents, general cleaning of rooms and equipment, and assisting generally as directed by nursing staff. You will also play an integral role in creating a home‑like environment for our residents.
Key responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff with non‑clinical duties such as housekeeping, portering patients, food prep and general assistance.
- Transfer patients within the hospital, manage linen and restock medical supplies.
- Cook or prepare light refreshments for patients and residents.
- Maintain cleanliness of rooms, equipment, and common areas.
- Provide support to nursing staff as directed.
Qualifications & attributes
- Reliable, punctual and energetic.
- Physically fit with the ability to handle wheelchairs, beds and other medical equipment.
- Caring, supportive attitude and valuable communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm in emergencies.
- Experience in a hospital or care setting is an advantage.
