This role provides technical deliverables that underpin the service management platforms for Enterprise customers, generating revenue circa 50-60m per annum.The Infrastructure Design Specialist independently works, executing the vision of key technologies within the infrastructure landscape.What You’ll Be DoingManages the implementation of high-level and low-level designs for stable network and infrastructure environments that meet the needs of BT, are shared with partners, and are compliant with current security, privacy, and audit requirementsProvides advanced technical knowledge and expertise where needed to support managers, principals or technical experts to resolve complex issuesLeads the collaboration with stakeholders across application development, enterprise architecture, infrastructure and cyber security teams to implement an effective product roadmapLeads the collaboration with technical architects, using advanced technical knowledge and past experience to translate architectural designs into operationsWrites documentation and builds tooling that makes the infrastructure easier to use and manageDrives the documentation of the processes, measurements, and assessments required for both individual work and projectsAudits and reports on the performance and the overall health of the network and infrastructure and recommends or initiates corrective action or enhancementsChampions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in infrastructure engineering best practices and industry standardsMentors other infrastructure engineers, helping to improve the team's abilities by acting as a technical resourceSkills And ExperienceWe are looking for individuals with a range of skills in one or more of the following areas/disciplines, and a good understanding of on-prem infrastructure including, networking, monitoring, firewall management would be an advantage.Databases(Oracle, SQL)Virtualisation(VMware products such as vSphere, Horizon, AppVolumes, NSX Load Balancers, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)HPE Hardware and monitoring applications(HPE Storage, Fabric Switches, Backup Technologies)Microsoft Tech Stack(Active Directory, MS Exchange, MS SharePoint, File Services, Windows Operating Systems)Operating Systems(Linux (RHEL), Windows Server 2019, Solaris)Not all of the above boxes need to be ticked, we are looking for candidates that have experience in one or many.The successful candidate will work in a medium size team along with junior and senior infrastructure design engineers, owning the design of the platform and also being 4th line support in a multi-department service model.
