Marketing and Visitor Services Manager (12-month Fixed Term Contract)

The Marketing & Visitor Services Manager (MVSM) is responsible for the work of MRBTA's Marketing, Visitor Servicing and Retail teams in attracting visitors to the Margaret River Region and shaping their behaviour once in destination.

The MVSM oversees the Destination Marketing; Capes Foundation Marketing; Visitor Services; Digital Product Management and Retail teams, ensuring that they are working effectively and cohesively in pursuit of the specific the goals outlined in MRBTA's Management Plan.

The MVSM is responsible for ensuring that the work of the Department is clearly articulated and communicated internally and externally.

The position is being offered on a 12-month fixed term contract.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic Leadership

Work with the CEO and leadership team to contribute to the strategy of the organisation.

Lead the delivery and ongoing assessment of the organisation's marketing, visitor services and retail activity.

Work collaboratively with the Business Operations and Partnerships & Membership Divisions to continually shape implementation and to respond to challenges and developments in the operating environment.

Nurture an empowered, passionate, technically‑skilled and agile team.

Ensure that MRBTA's vision and values are embedded in all activity.

Ensure brand alignment and accuracy of all content delivered through the Destination and Capes Foundation brands.

Oversee channel specific strategies, including websites, social media, content, eDM, advertising, partner‑led promotion and visitor servicing.

Work closely with the Retail Manager to analyse retail sales and respond to trends accordingly.

Lead cross‑team approach to gathering data and insights on visitor behaviour.


Operations & Risk

Draw on expertise from the Resource Development Department to guide the team and ensure that Visitor Centre, Retail and Marketing operations are delivered in line with the organisation's risk management framework and industry best practice.


Partnerships & Projects

Work closely with partners such as local governments and industry associations to nurture collaborative relationships and formalised partnerships in pursuit of mutual marketing and visitor servicing goals.

Coordinate cross‑team projects and partnerships.

Source and administer grant opportunities to support the work of the team where relevant.


Communications

Confidently represent MRBTA's marketing and visitor servicing strategies to internal and external stakeholders, with particular focus on members.

Contribute to and deliver presentations and written communications as required.

Drive third party recognition of MRBTA's marketing and visitor services work.


Reporting and Administration

Coordinate annual visitor servicing report.

Coordinate board reporting on behalf of the Department.

Oversee the development and monitoring of the Department's annual budgets.

About MRBTA and Capes Foundation

The Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association (MRBTA) is a self‑funded, for‑purpose, incorporated association with over 50 years' experience in supporting the Margaret River Region to thrive through tourism.

As Australia's largest Local Tourism Organisation (LTO) we support over 700 member businesses, undertake destination marketing and visitor servicing on behalf of the region, and work collaboratively with partners on regional development initiatives.

Our Capes Foundation cares for eight nature and heritage‑based attractions in our Region: Ngilgi, Mammoth, Lake and Jewel Caves; Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin Lighthouses; Capes Raptor Centre; and Forest Adventures.

MRBTA also operates South West Aviation Services, providing professional aviation ground handling services at Busselton Margaret River Airport.

We employ over 160 staff between Busselton and Augusta, who share a common passion for the region, and are driven by a vision to produce outcomes from tourism which make it a better place to live, work and visit.
