About the Role
Lismore Base Hospital is seeking a dynamic and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to work across both Acute Care Services (ACS) and the Mental Health Emergency Care (MHEC) team. This dual role offers a unique opportunity to provide psychiatric care in both community and emergency settings, supporting patients in crisis and facilitating continuity of care.
You will:
* Lead the multidisciplinary team in delivering psychiatric assessment and treatment for patients in acute and emergency settings.
* Provide consultation to the Emergency Department and inpatient units.
* Support crisis intervention, triage, and short‑term management through the MHEC model.
* Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to service development and quality improvement.
