About the Collection Digitisation Team
This team is responsible for the digital preservation of historical film, video, audio, documents, and artefacts within our national collection. They require technical audio-visual operations knowledge and program delivery skills to lead the team effectively.
The Operations Manager role requires a customer-focused approach, achieving targets within existing resources in a deadline-driven environment.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead the team to deliver targets and key performance indicators, managing resources to develop and update end-to-end workflows.
* Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, providing expertise and advice on audiovisual preservation and post-production services.
* Support supervisory staff, collaborating with teams and other departments to develop suitable training programs.
* Lead the development and implementation of business plans, reporting requirements, and budgets.
* Monitor and evaluate costings and productivity information, identifying risks and escalating issues as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven leadership experience in leading and supporting a team in a related industry or cultural environment.
* Demonstrated knowledge of best practice audiovisual digital preservation methodologies.
* Ability to research and develop innovative solutions, workflows, and business models to improve operational capability and capacity.
* High-level project management skills, including complex procurement within a government framework.
* Negotiation, written and oral communication skills, including maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
