Operations Manager – Civil Earthworks

MDM is growing with new contracts coming online and we are looking for a strong people leader to come on the journey with us. Together with strong leadership we are looking for someone who can set direction, deliver on it, driving operational excellence.
Ideally, the role is based in Kununurra, East Kimberley on a Mon-Fri roster. Relocation and FIFO considerations may be looked at for the right candidate keen to take on this exciting and critical role.
The role and your responsibilities:
· Working closely with project managers and operational teams to ensure the setting and maintaining of clear expectations. You will ensure all that all in-field teams deliver exceptional results.
· Oversees on-site operations (safety, quality, schedule) and accountable for leadership, communications, and people engagement.
· Monitor project performance, identifying risks, opportunities, and improvements.
· As a growing business you will support business development activities, ensuring we have the gear and people to deliver our contracts. This will include reviewing tender documents and input to project estimates.
· Manage workforce planning, resource allocation and mobilisation across projects.
The skills and experience required:
· years leadership and management experience within industrial operations.
· years on-site experience delivering major civil infrastructure and earthworks projects.
· Proven leadership experience including coaching and mentoring indigenous employees.
· Ability to work under pressure with the ability to prioritise workload accordingly.
· Demonstrated ability to involve others in the decision-making process when making plans that will affect them.
· Hold Senior Site Executive and Quarry Manager tickets (or be prepared to obtain them).
