We're looking for an experienced casual Chef de Partie with great work ethic, passion and strong knowledge in all areas of Modern Italian cuisine Your hands on approach will see you be a successful team player. Working closely with both back and front of house your communication skills will be exceptional.
This casual role is an equally rewarding and challenging position. Offering 30-35 Hours per week across weekday and weekends. Flexible availability is a must.
Required Skills
* Must be experienced in working with entree section, pans (pasta) and grill
* A minimum of 3 years experience with fresh pasta
* Preparing, seasoning, cooking and plating dishes as per the recipes in a timely manner
* Prepping ingredients across all areas in the kitchen
* Ensuring menu comprehension and quality standards are exceeded
* Plating all dishes in appropriate portions as per menu card photos/chef instruction
* Arranging the stock order list and assist in purchasing and pricing of food if required
* Consistent monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
* Discussing and assisting with the correction of food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
* Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
* Assisting with the training of staff
* Maintaining records of stock levels and ensuring food wastage is at a minimum
* Ensuring kitchen area and equipment complies with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance
* Experience regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
* Systematically logging fridge and freezer temperatures as well as ensuring food is stored appropriately to exceed food safety guidelines
* Team focused and passionate about the industry solutions driven and flexible
Experience/Availability
* 3+ years' Chef de Partie experience
* Experience in a 7 day a la carte operation
* Available to work from Late January
* Ideally Staying long term in Cairns

Pay: $35.15 – $49.21 per hour
