Role Description
We're searching for the perfect Electrical Estimating Manager with significant experience across commercial fitouts and commercial/industrial construction projects. This is a key strategic hire to support our continued growth and help formalise and lead our estimating division.
Experience and Qualifications;
* A strong background in electrical estimating within the commercial construction sector (fitouts, industrial, and D&C projects).
* Proven experience in setting up and refining systems, processes, and workflows for estimating and tendering functions.
* The ability to operate autonomously and take ownership of the entire estimating function.
* Strong industry relationships, ideally with builders, project managers, and consultants — and the ability to leverage these to generate new opportunities for the business.
* Proficiency in Aroflo, Groundplan, and, as well as experience working with client-side systems such as EstimateOne, Procore, and similar platforms. We are able to arrange training through Aroflo if the successful candidate is not familiar with this system, aroflo operates very similar to Simpro.
* Identifying, assessing, and managing project commercial, business, community, and environmental risks.
* Ensuring specifications are read, interpreted and understood. Ensuring exclusions on tenders are covered.
* Establishing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
* Strong commercial acumen.
* Drivers license.
* Being a qualified electrician with experience having worked on site previously would be advantageous though not required.
To be successful in this position you must have at least 2+ years' experience as an electrical estimator successfully delivering profitable and accurate tenders. You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and influencing skills as well as developed people management skills working alongside estimators and builders to deliver project awards.
You will be supported occasionally by our in-house Electrical Engineer (for take-offs and software inputs) but will primarily manage and build the estimating side independently.
We are seeking someone who wants to grow with the business longterm and play a key role in our journey. We've been operating for 7 years, with 30+ full-time staff and various subcontractors. Our goal is to continue our momentum through Tier 2 projects, build towards Tier 1 capability, and expand into the East Coast within 5 years.
