Job Title: Community Engagement and Stakeholder Liaison Specialist
About the Role
This role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive community engagement strategy, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring transparent, timely communication with the public and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing and implementing community engagement strategies to support regional contaminated site remediation projects
* Fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, including community members, local government officials, and external partners
* Ensuring transparent, timely communication with the public and regulatory bodies through various channels
* Managing community enquiries and minimizing project impacts through proactive measures
* Representing the project at public forums and community meetings
This is a DIDO opportunity based in Portland, offering accommodation, food allowances, and rental car/travel reimbursement.
About You
You are a confident communicator and relationship builder with a strong background in stakeholder engagement. You bring:
* A degree in Communications or a related field
* At least 5 years' experience in stakeholder engagement
* IAP2 Certificate in Public Participation (preferred)
* Strong skills in communication, data analysis, and change management
* A proactive, community-focused mindset and the ability to manage sensitive issues with professionalism
