We are seeking an experienced and passionate Squad Program Coach to play a key role in the success of our competitive swimming program and our strong partnership with the STARplex Swim Club.
About The Role
Working closely with the Swim Centre Manager, Head Squad Coach and coaching team, you will help lead and grow a high‐performing, inclusive competitive swimming program. This role combines hands‐on coaching with leadership, mentoring, and program oversight – supporting athletes from development through to state‐level representation.
You will be the primary liaison with the STARplex Swim Club, ensuring clear communication, a positive culture and a smooth pathway for swimmers, families and coaches.
What You Will Deliver
* Coach and program squads across competitive stroke disciplines, including oversight of the State Development Squad
* Mentor, support and develop a team of swim coaches
* Deliver high‐quality training programs focused on performance, progression and athlete wellbeing
* Coordinate competition planning, training calendars and meet attendance
* Build strong relationships with swimmers, families, club representatives and STARplex staff
* Support smooth transitions from swim school into competitive squads
* Uphold safety, quality, customer experience and industry best practice
What You Will Bring
* Current ASCTA coaching accreditation
* Strong technical knowledge of competitive swimming and FINA rules
* Experience developing swimmers from junior to senior competition levels
* Proven ability to lead, motivate and mentor coaches and athletes
* Warm, clear communication skills and a collaborative approach
* A genuine commitment to athlete development, safety and inclusion
* Required compliance verifications for working with young people and a school environment (First Aid, Working with Children Check, Police Check)
