We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Stock Coordinator and Gemological Assistant at our Melbourne based fine jewellery showroom.
With a passion for gemstones and design, CW specialises in beautifully designed and crafted, unique fine jewellery holding extraordinary gemstones. We take pride in our extensive gemstone collection of antique & modern diamonds and coloured gemstones as well as our ethos to create a personalised, unintimidating fine jewellery experience for all.
As the Stock Coordinator and Gemological Assistant you would be responsible for the daily coordination of the CW gemstone inventory and general stock coordination. You have impeccable attention to detail, with a true passion for precious stones and exposure to diamond/coloured gemstone grading as you will be responsible for ensuring high level quality control and assisting in the local procurement of gemstones
The primary focus of the role is being responsible for inventory management of stock gemstones and working closely with the production team to oversee stock entry and management. You will also be the liaison with our Antwerp based In-House Gemologist and act as his in-house intermediary; building and maintaining relationships with our local suppliers and being a support and knowledge base for our sales and production teams for all things gem related.
**Key Skills and attributes**:
- You are systematic and thorough with meticulous attention to detail which you will use to accurately maintain the gem collection and general inventory levels and systems
- Responsible for receiving goods (with a focus in gemstones), transferring stock, stock take assistance and inventory balancing.
- Assist with all stock inventory, incoming and outgoing bespoke and collection jewellery, inventory spreadsheets, unleashed assemblies, JCS and snippets.
- You'll work with and provide Inventory Control support for our Antwerp based Gemologist and act as his in-house intermediary, assisting with Gemstone Acquisition buying, grading and planning
- You will accurately and efficiently oversee and maintain our gem stock on a daily basis, including physically and systematically receiving, issuing, shipping, and tracking gemstones and diamonds
- Process and quality control current gemstone stock with particular attention to detail to ensure all gemstones meet CW standards.
- Building and maintaining relationships with our local suppliers as well as being a support and knowledge base for our sales and production teams for all things gem related.
- Work closely with the Production and Sales teams to ensure timely and accurate gemstone allocation to all jobs (including identification of correct stones, weighing, scanning and uploading of 3D videos to our job management software system as well as creating and assigning stones to their unique jobs in our inventory system
Experience in stock control, inventory systems and gemology is highly desirable but not essential (high level of proficiency in written, verbal and computer skills a must).
