Mount Hospital are currently looking for a full time Nurse Unit Manager to join the hospital leadership team and lead our Karri South Ward, where we care for our surgical patients including bariatrics, plastics, breast, reconstructive and general surgical patients.
In the Nurse Unit Manager position, you will:
4. Provide leadership and direction to the ward to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital
5. Provide operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of the nursing care that is evidence based
6. Be accountable and responsible for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure the customer service is maintained at optimal levels
7. Participate in marketing initiatives of the hospital to promote growth, help identify clinical areas for expansion and represent the hospital at external clinical forums
8. Undertake direct patient care as required providing guidance and support to less experienced members of nursing team
9. Work as part of the healthcare team, adhere to Healthscope and site policies and procedures and key performance indicators
10. Participate in working parties/committees and demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvements through NSQHS, workplace health and safety and achievement of hospital accreditation
11. Take an active role in the management of WHS issues pertaining the unit
12. Completion of yearly performance reviews

Selection Criteria:
13. Current AHPRA Registration
14. Minimum 5 years nursing experience - experience in surgical nursing highly regarded
15. Demonstrated knowledge of delivering on Key KPIs
16. Ability to achieve results through consultation, advice and facilitation
17. High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
18. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
19. Ability to manage human and material resources as a senior leader on the ward
20. Strong sense of customer service
21. Ability to work and liaise within a multidisciplinary team to achieve organisational and department objectives
22. Postgraduate qualifications in nursing or commitment to obtaining same (desirable)
23. Recent management experience at ANUM level or higher (desirable)
24. Knowledge of relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements (desirable)
Remuneration: $125,000.00 per annum base rate for full time hours in line with enterprise agreement
