BGC Australia is seeking a Carpentry Apprentice to join our booming housing team.

**he Opportunity**
This position provides an opportunity for you to complete an apprenticeship with BGC Sub-Contractors in carpentry and to learn from the best of the best, with WA's largest builder. Upon completion, you will successfully achieve a Certificate III in Carpentry. You will learn how to build and install the wooden and metal structures and fixtures that make up commercial or residential buildings. As an Apprentice with our Sub-Contracting Carpentry team, there is additional support provided by BGC Housing Group.
Your typical day will include:
- Learning all aspects of the carpentry trade, from our experienced tradespeople
- Reading plans and specifications
- Quantity take offs and material inventory
- Using a variety of hand and power tools
- Carrying out measurements and calculations
- Building roof and wall frames in accordance with the Australian standard
- Pitching roof frames
- Erecting scaffolding
- Installing roofing timber components
- General labouring duties
- Cleaning up workstations & areas
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will need:
- An interest in the carpentry trade
- To commit to a 48-month apprenticeship
- Basic understanding and knowledge of hand tools
- A current white card (or willing to obtain)
- Have a current Western Australian Drivers licence
