Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Addiction Recovery Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with individuals who are navigating the challenges of addiction and recovery.
Your primary responsibility will be to establish trusting relationships with clients, explore their unique situations through intake and assessment, and collaborate with them to design tailored case plans that promote holistic growth and empowerment.
You will walk alongside clients throughout their journey, providing ongoing support and guidance as they progress towards recovery. This may involve responding sensitively to high-risk situations, always guided by safety and ethical practice.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A degree qualification in Social Work, Welfare, or Community Development, with relevant field work experience and demonstrated knowledge in the sector.
* Or a minimum Certificate IV in Community Services, with related high-level work experience and skills attained through similar appointments, service, and study/development.
* Demonstrated experience in engaging clients who encounter the Justice System and/or Corrective Services, and willingness to assist in the provision of support in areas of homelessness, alcohol and other drug dependence, and mental health issues.
* Experience working with people who may not have English as a first language and knowledge of Local Aboriginal Communities and Culture.
