We are seeking a skilled HSEQ Officer to join our team. This is a permanent opportunity that offers a unique chance to work on a major energy infrastructure project.
The Port Kembla Energy Terminal is a state-of-the-art facility that will strengthen Australia's energy security as the nation's first LNG import terminal. As part of this project, you will be working closely with operations teams and contributing to safe and compliant workplace practices.
This role is ideal for a practical, site-focused professional who enjoys hands-on work and helping maintain a safe and efficient workplace. You will be supporting the implementation of safety, environmental, and quality systems on site.
* Support contractor, staff, and visitor inductions, ensuring PPE and basic HSEQ requirements are met.
* Assist with maintaining accurate HSEQ records, registers, and reports, escalating issues when required.
* Help implement HSEQ procedures in line with legislation and company standards.
* Conduct routine site inspections to identify hazards or non-compliances for follow-up by senior staff.
* Support toolbox talks, site safety drills, and general HSEQ training activities.
* Assist with internal audits aligned to ISO requirements.
* Under supervision, support hazardous waste handling and correct segregation in accordance with site procedures.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* 3-5 years' experience in HSEQ roles ideally within heavy industry.
* Understanding of WHS legislation, environmental obligations, and risk management principles.
* Exposure to ISO management systems.
* Relevant qualification in WHS, Environmental Science, or a related field.
* Proactive, hands-on approach, and ability to work effectively with operations teams.
