We currently have immediate vacancies available across the following services: Crisis Connect (1 FTE), Eating Disorders Service (3 FTE), Gender Diversity Service (2 FTE), and PPIRT (2 FTE).
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health challenges.
CAHS helps children grow and thrive and we offer these same opportunities to the nurses who join our team. Our team-oriented approach allows for extensive clinical upskilling and leadership development opportunities for nurses of all levels.
About The Directorate
Eating Disorders Service (EDS)
The EDS at Perth Children's Hospital supports children and young people facing challenges related to eating and exercise. A multidisciplinary team delivers a range of treatment options including outpatient care, day programs, inpatient support, and group therapy. The service guides patients and families through assessment, recovery, and discharge.
Gender Diversity Service (GDS)
GDS is a specialised outpatient clinic that provides support to children and young people, and their families, seeking information about gender identity, consultation and assessment, and assessment and approval for gender-affirming medical treatment of teenagers where appropriate.
Paediatric Psychiatry In-Reach Team (PPIRT)
Specialist psychiatric and risk assessments
Clinical advice on complex presentations
Referral to and/or liaison with other resources within the hospital or in the community for extended treatment, if required
CCC provides a single point of contact for children in community settings across metropolitan Perth who require urgent mental health support, brief intervention and/or assessment.
About The Role
As a Clinical Nurse you will provide comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will deliver individualized care using a problem-orientated approach and act as an advocate for patients, consumers and other members of the health care team to achieve health goals. This position is on site, based at Perth Children's Hospital.
What You Will Bring
Preferably 3 or more years of experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. Applicants with differing work and lived experience may also be considered.
Experience working with children and adolescents is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to supervise others and provide clinical knowledge to enable staff in delivering quality patient care.
A keen interest to upskill your clinical and leadership skills.
Registration as a Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia is required.
