Overview
Senior Project Engineer - Tailings Storage Facility (FIFO | Australia). We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to take a key role in the delivery of a major Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) construction project. This is an opportunity to either step up into a leadership-focused role or to bring your extensive experience in TSF projects to a new challenge.
The Role: In this position, you\'ll play a central part in the execution and oversight of TSF construction and operations, with responsibilities including:
- Leading the day-to-day delivery of construction works, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance
- Managing schedules, budgets, reporting, and contractor performance
- Coordinating with design engineers and external auditors to maintain compliance with GISTM and industry standards
- Supporting long-term planning, including tailings deposition strategy and future expansions
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers where required
About You
This role would suit either:
- A highly experienced engineer with a proven background in TSF lifecycle management, expansions, and compliance
- A skilled project engineer with strong civil/mining project delivery experience, looking for the next step into a senior role
You'll Bring
- A degree in Civil, Mining, or Geotechnical Engineering (or similar)
- Experience in tailings facilities, large-scale earthworks, or mining infrastructure projects
- Solid skills in project execution, reporting, and contractor management
- The confidence to lead, influence, and deliver
