About Us:
We are a busy 72-room motel and steakhouse located in Blackwater, Central Queensland. Our customer base consists primarily of corporate clients working in the mining sector.
Position Overview:
We are in need of a dependable Motel Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our motel and restaurant on a 6 week on, 2 week off roster or 3 week on, 1 week off roster.
This pivotal role requires someone with strong managerial skills, attention to detail, and a dedication to maintaining the high standards we've set for guest satisfaction.
The reception hours are from Monday to Friday 7am - 7pm and weekends 9am - 5pm. The restaurant is open from Monday to Friday 5pm - 8:30pm.
Our restaurant staff are able to work with minimal supervision but the manager should be available to assist when needed.
Your New Role:
As the Motel Manager, you will be the heart and soul of our motel operations.
Your day-to-day duties will look along the lines of the below:
* Manage the reception and daily motel operations.
* Managing our corporate allotments.
* Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and reservations efficiently.
* Oversee staff, ensuring adherence to policies and providing necessary guidance.
* Order supplies for the motel, bar and restaurant (i.e. linen, cleaning supplies, food etc.)
* Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
* Assist in financial management, invoicing and reporting.
* Handling calls with a professional telephone manner.
* Ensuring the front office is organised and records are meticulously kept.
* Adapting to additional responsibilities to meet operational requirements.
Who We Are Looking For:
* Proven experience in motel or hotel management.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Proficiency in using computer systems and reservation software (Microsoft Suite, Guestpoint and SiteMinder essential, Xero preferred).
* Flexibility to work varied hours.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
* Quick learner, ability to step in and work in a relief capacity.
* Someone who takes pride in their work.
