The Registered Nurse Level 2 (RN2) Project Officer will provide unit operational level advice to facilitate implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting on the Nurses and Midwives Towards a Safer Culture (NM TASC) ‘The Next Steps’ Strategy. The position will require unit level engagement by supporting staff, facilitating education preparation, co-ordinating workflow processes and monitoring and evaluating the quality of output of work delivered. The position will report directly to the Assistant Director of Nursing, Towards a Safer Culture Project and the ACT Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer. The RN2 Project Officer will use their advanced clinical and problem-solving skills and expert planning and coordination skills to assist with embedding of the project and provide industry advice and leadership. The primary responsibilities of this position are to: Facilitate ongoing collection and analysis of data including monitoring mechanisms and dashboarding of relevant NM TASC Strategy data measures. Support training and education and contribute to the development of e-learning modules to ensure management of incidents of Occupational Violence (OV) in the workplace by managers. Review and facilitate in the development of best practice guidelines and other resources developed through the NM TASC Strategy. Engage and work collaboratively with Health Services Business Units (HSBU) to advise on local implementation of the Safewards model of care (MoC). Liaise with key communications and engagement stakeholders to support the successful implementation of a campaign refresh of the ‘Be Kind’ community awareness campaign. Work collaboratively with local HSBU to support active engagement and access to clinical supervision for all nurses and midwives, through training education and by increasing visibility. Organise and facilitate in targeted stakeholder engagement forums to support the increase visibility and buy in of the NM TASC strategy. Advise HSBU on compliance with governance, reporting and quality requirements to successfully deliver the projects’ milestones and outcomes. Coordinate the day-to-day management of set project deliverables, training and resources as articulated in the NM TASC ‘Next Steps’ Project Management Plan and escalate any potential risks or issues impacting the project delivery to the NM TASC RN3 and Assistant Director of Nursing, Towards a Safer Culture Project. Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification that contribute to the ACT Health and Community Services Directorate. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Have experience delivering or working within the Safewards MoC with a comprehensive understanding of the originating domains, Safewards strategies and their application within the clinical setting. Have a minimum of three years experience in a clinical nursing or midwifery setting. Hold and maintain AHPRA registration as a nurse and/or midwife. Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
