**About the role**:
The core responsibility of the Quality & Control Manager is to safely and efficiently test and inspect products according to company standards, using automatic and manual testing equipment, hand tools and instruments, in order to evaluate the properties of the raw materials and finished goods with the goal to assure the quality and reliability of products. Quality starts and stops with you
**Duties**:
- Strict monitoring of daily production activities
- Ensure strong support and cooperation with the production department
- Set up and perform all necessary tests and inspections of raw materials
- Determine variables, such as dimensions, performance, chemical and physical properties and other characteristics
- Accept incoming goods and release manufactured products to specifications
- Stop all goods if judged as non-conforming or outside of quality standards
- Data collation from testing and quality management for the R&D team
- Participate in all quality activities
- Supervise lab technicians and production workers
- Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality activities
- Ensure that laboratory equipment is well maintained and calibrated as per schedule
- Promote continuous improvement strategies and ongoing WHS initiatives
**Education and Skills**:
- Science related qualifications, preferably in Chemistry
- 3+ years experience in a similar role and related industry
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- A true mind and eye for quality and precision
- Able to report findings and collate data with a high degree of accuracy
- Competent to identify, communicate and resolve problems discovered during testing in a timely manner
