Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) is offering a temporary opportunity for a highly experienced Director, Legal to join the Corporate Leadership Team.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Directors are responsible for providing expert advice to stakeholders and providing leadership to support the regulation of safety and health in Queensland's resources industries in line with RSHQ's strategic plan.
The Director, Legal provides expert legal advice to senior stakeholders, leads the development and implementation of RSHQ's legal strategy, manages legal risks, and oversees the legal functions across RSHQ.
The Successful Candidate Should Demonstrate Financial stewardship Efficient management of team resources and workload prioritization to deliver outcomes Experience working with diverse stakeholders on complex issues Responsibilities of the Director, Legal Providing expert legal advice to senior executives and internal stakeholders to manage legal, regulatory, and compliance matters impacting RSHQ's strategic goals Leading RSHQ's legal team, providing leadership and guidance Managing service delivery, including relationships with external legal providers and ensuring quality Staying abreast of legal advancements and developing innovative legal responses Assessing the impact of environmental changes on relevant legislation and frameworks to ensure alignment with strategic and governmental goals Leading the legal team in providing legal services Managing external provider relationships Degree qualifications in law and admission as a legal practitioner eligible to practice in Queensland are essential.
