About The Role
As theHSE Manageryou play a vital role in upholding the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across all project sites and company operations.
This position combines hands-on, proactive leadership on site with strategic oversight of company-wide HSE management.
The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with legislative requirements, foster a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement, and provide essential support and mentorship to site-based Project Teams.
Additionally, the HSE Manager will lead the ongoing implementation and enhancement of the GVG Safety and Environmental Integrated Management Systems (SEIMS), reinforcing our commitment to safe, sustainable, and responsible building practices.
Lead and maintain GVG's Safety and Environmental Integrated Management Systems (SEIMS)
Provide strategic HSE advice and reporting to the Executive Leadership Team and project managers
Oversee the construction department WHS and environmental audits and ensure compliance with legislative obligations
Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and return-to-work coordination to ensure HSE Advisors are compliant with GVG procedures
Lead and mentor a team of HSE Advisors to ensure consistent safety practices across projects
Collaborate closely with project managers, site managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support procurement of HSE-compliant materials and services
Facilitate HSE communications, training, and consultation programs
Your Attributes

Required Skills And Qualifications
Proven experience in HSE roles within the construction industry
Relevant tertiary qualification in HSE preferred
Strong passion for creating safe and productive work environments
Deep understanding of HSE codes, legislation, and risk management methodologies
Commitment to continuous improvement and policy development
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Valid Australian driver's licence and construction white card
Team-oriented mindset with a passion for building and development
