About the Role
Our Chlor‑Alkali manufacturing facility located in Lytton QLD produces Sodium Hypochlorite, Hydrochloric Acid and Caustic Soda for the water treatment industry, swimming pool industry and local industrial customers. We have a dedicated distribution network that services our depots and clients throughout QLD and NSW.
Our Maintenance and Engineering team is looking for a full‑time permanent Mechanical Engineer to join our Lytton site.
We are seeking a team‑oriented, highly proficient and safety‑conscious Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all mechanical assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure mechanical equipment is designed, installed, inspected and maintained in a way that ensures it is operating safely, reliably and efficiently
- Development and execution of preventative maintenance and condition monitoring programs.
- Provide technical guidance and support to mechanical maintenance team.
- Scope definition and execution management of plant shutdown tasks (Mechanical).
- Actively contribute to process safety reviews.
- Asset life cycle planning and management for mechanical assets.Critical spares management for mechanical assets.
- Project Manage Coogee's East Coast projects up to $1m to ensure compliance with engineering standards, project goals and change management processes.
- Conduct or participate in design reviews for plant and process modifications.
- Lead Mechanical Asset Integrity initiatives and actions.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- Australian recognised or equivalent tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience, ideally in Petro‑Chemical Manufacturing, Oil & Gas or Mineral Processing.
- Knowledge and experience of materials of construction (incl protective coatings) in Chemical Manufacturing.
- Understanding of the operation, maintenance and design of chemical plant, storage and distribution facilities.
- Must be familiar with Australian Engineering standards as appropriate for Coogee East Coast facilities.
- The ability to build strong professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, organisational skills, and business acumen.
- The ability to drive valuable outcomes for the business.
- Desirable but not essential - Registered Skilled Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ).
