Position Description
The Clinical Nurse Manager is a specialist role responsible for providing effective clinical leadership within the allocated mental health clinical area(s). The position holder influences nursing practice both within and externally to the health service, assists with capacity planning and human resource management for out‐of‐hours services, and contributes to policy development and change management. The role delivers a global perspective of capacity and access demands, ensuring local capacity issues are met and supporting clinical standards, monitoring and mentorship for nursing staff.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership and standard‐setting for mental health nursing teams.
* Monitor and evaluate clinical performance and patient outcomes.
* Lead policy development and change management initiatives.
* Assume professional accountability to the Director of Nursing and Midwifery.
* Mentor and role‐model nursing staff, contributing to career development.
* Collaborate with other clinical teams to meet local capacity and human resource needs.
