The Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) & the Repatriation Commission and the Military Rehabilitation and Co maintains the Consolidated Library of Information and Knowledge (CLIK), a Drupal-based platform that serves as the authoritative source of policy and procedural information for both staff and clients. CLIK also underpins an AI-assisted chatbot (CLIKChat), which relies on the accuracy and currency of content within the platform.
The DVA require an experienced Drupal Web Developer to support a time-critical content migration and publication program, lead a large-scale content audit, conduct a platform health assessment, and contribute to longer-term strategic platform planning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Policy Documentation Upload (Priority / Time-Critical)
o This is the highest priority work stream and should be commenced immediately upon engagement.
o Coordinate the upload of -2,000 policy pages into CLIK, ensuring accurate formatting, tagging, and compliance with standards.
o Confirm content with policy owners prior to publication and prioritise uploads based on business need.
o Track progress and report status to the project lead.
* Content Audit and Data Quality Improvement
o Conduct a comprehensive health review of CLIK Drupal.
o Assess platform health, including versions, security, performance, and accessibility compliance.
o Identify technical debt and define a prioritise remediation roadmap.
o Implement approved updates and provide a platform health report with findings and recommendations.
* Platform Planning
o Provide technical advice on options to align or integrate CLIK with the DVA website platform.
o Document architecture options, risks, integration considerations, and resource impacts.
o Support decision-making by engaging ICT stakeholders and contributing to options papers or business cases.
* Ticket Management and User Support
o Providing support for ticket management and resolution of technical issues on the Drupal platform.
o Supporting users with efficient content management such as through information sessions.
Essential Criteria
* Skill requirements:
o Drupal development, configuration and administration, including site building
o Web development skills in a Drupal context
o Large-scale content upload/migration and structured publishing workflow delivery
o Content audit design and execution at scale
o Knowledge of accessibility and content best practice
o Information architecture, metadata and taxonomy design for knowledge/policy libraries
o Platform health assessment and remediation planning
o Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across ICT and business/policy teams.
* 3-years hands-on experience developing in Drupal (responses must detail the specific Drupal versions used, description of recent development tasks, modules built and technologies used)
