Position OverviewHSQC Group is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing Wagga Wagga office. This is a senior-level opportunity for a confident, technically strong professional with 6+ years’ experience in Australian public practice, specialising in company and individual tax.

As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will manage a diverse portfolio of company and individual clients, ensuring compliance with Australian tax legislation while delivering high-quality advisory and compliance services. You will play a key leadership role within the office and contribute to the continued growth of the firm.
Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation and review of company, trust, partnership, and individual tax returnsPreparation and review of financial statementsTax planning and advisory services for SME clientsManaging ATO correspondence and client queriesOverseeing workflow and mentoring junior team membersReviewing work completed by intermediate and junior accountantsEnsuring compliance with Australian tax legislation and standardsBuilding and maintaining strong client relationshipsAssisting leadership with complex tax matters and business advisory projects
Skills & Experience RequiredMinimum 6+ years’ experience in Australian public practiceStrong knowledge of Australian taxation law and compliance requirementsExperience managing both company and individual tax mattersDemonstrated ability to lead or mentor a small teamHigh-level attention to detail and strong technical capabilityExcellent communication and client relationship skillsProficient in Xero, MYOB and other accounting softwareCPA or CA qualification (or near completion) highly regardedRelevant accounting degree qualification
