The Opportunity:
This is an opportunity to join a globally established mining organisation supporting a large operational workforce in Central Queensland. The business operates at significant scale, with a structured HR function working closely with operational leaders to support workforce performance, engagement and compliance.
Reporting to the HR Superintendent, you will provide generalist HR support across a broad range of operational activities. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with leaders and employees within a fast-paced site environment.
This position is offered as a residential role within the Blackwater region and operates on a 5/2 – 4/3 roster, providing a 9-day fortnight.
Key responsibilities
* Deliver generalist HR support across a operational and corporate workforce
* Support recruitment activities including role coordination, candidate management and onboarding
* Coordinate workforce accommodation and site logistics
* Assist with payroll processes and provide HR administrative support where required
* Maintain HR documentation, reporting and employee records
* Provide guidance to supervisors and employees on HR policies and procedures
* Support workforce reporting and data management using Employment Hero and internal systems
* Assist with broader HR initiatives and site-based workforce project
About you
You are a proactive HR professional who enjoys working in an operational environment and partnering closely with site leaders.
You will bring:
* Experience in a HR Officer, HR Coordinator or similar HR support role
* Exposure to generalist HR functions including recruitment and workforce administration
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
* Experience working with HRIS systems, ideally Employment Hero or similar
* Mining or resources experience preferred but not essential
* A proactive approach with strong initiative and problem-solving capability
