About the Role:
As an ICT Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing innovative solutions for physical layer design, construction, and permitting. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring timely delivery of scalable fiber optic & copper plant designs and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop pathway, space, and cabling designs, along with specifications for construction and permitting.
* Engage with industry suppliers and manufacturers to define product requirements and explore emerging technologies.
* Ensure effective risk management and rapid response to high-priority issues.
* Collaborate with engineers and managers to develop solutions that improve infrastructure quality, reduce costs, and minimize installation time.
* Travel 20% or more to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at various locations.

Basic Qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design in Mission Critical Environments.
* 5+ years of developing design documentation (plans, specifications, etc.) for construction and/or permitting.
* 5+ years of working experience with fiber optic components, cabling, and interconnect products, technologies, and standards.
* Able to prioritize tasks and deliver results in complex, fast-paced environments.
* Possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and maintain high-quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
* BICSI RCDD Certification or internationally recognized equivalent (e.g., CDCDP, DCDC, etc.).
* Professional Engineering (PE) Electrical License.
* Experience in AutoCAD or other Computer Aided Design Tools.
* Able to think outside the box to find creative and innovative solutions that reduce costs while maintaining or improving quality, reliability, or maintainability.
* Effective communication skills to collect requirements, describe features, technical designs, and strategy from users, other technical teams, and senior management.
