THE OPPORTUNITY
Based at Randwick Racecourse and reporting to the Project Manager, you will deliver capital works projects to allow the Australian Turf Club to continue to deliver world class venues for our members and customers.
Key objectives of the role include :
* Support the end-to-end delivery of full lifecycle project management services including planning, implementation, and the handover (to proactively support ongoing operations and maintenance requirements) of capital works relating to thoroughbred horse racing, stabling and training infrastructure, buildings / grandstands / property, services and utilities and hospitality & event-based assets for various ATC Departments.
* Contribute to the preparation of project plans, including assisting in solutions, scheduling & budgeting.
* Attend client meetings and site visits to provide project assistance.
* Provide ongoing project management and skilled / technical advice and peer reviewing
* Assist in maintaining project governance, monitoring risks, and supporting PMO processes across all delivery stages.
* Provide monthly Capital Works Program reports to the Project Manager and others as required.
* Assist in the development of efficient and user-friendly systems and processes to capture project ideas to be assessed against business priorities for activation.
THE RIGHT FIT
To be successful in the role, the right fit will have the following experience and capability :
* Exposure to project management across construction projects
* Bachelor's degree in project management, engineering or construction management and / or at least 1-2 years' experience in a similar role.
* Project management or knowledge with the development of equine related facilities such as thoroughbred horse racing and / or training tracks, stable barns, or associated amenities (e.g. equine pools / horse fitness equipment) is preferred.
* A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
* A passion for sport and entertainment is essential,
* Good communications skills and ability to build relationships with internal external stakeholders.
* Microsoft Office Skills including MS Project.
