**Medical Receptionist Job Description**

Responsibilities:
* Manage patient appointments, including scheduling and reminders.
* Handle telephone and email communications with patients and medical professionals.
* Process Medicare billing and payment for patients.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
* Provide administrative support for practice operations.
* Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary clinical team to ensure seamless care delivery.
* Develop competent computer skills to learn and operate practice management software.
* Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, staff, and medical professionals.
* Maintain a professional approach in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
* Ensure attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
* Protect patient confidentiality at all times.
* Understand and apply trauma-informed care principles in daily work.
**Requirements:**
* Previous experience as a medical receptionist or similar role.
* Knowledge of Medicare billing systems and NDIS billing systems.
* Ability to learn and adapt to new technology and systems quickly.
* Strong understanding of office administration and patient flow management.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
