ABOUT THE ROLE

* Part time - 2 days per week
* Temporary 12 month position
* Band 4 - $28,879 (pro-rata) + 12% superannuation
* Flexible and hybrid work options available

Are you experienced in managing risks or compliance and making a meaningful impact behind the scenes? If you're proactive and detail-oriented, the Risk and Freedom of Information Support Officer position might be a great fit for you.

Contributing to the integrity and resilience of Council operations, you'll be key in supporting functions that help safeguard transparency, accountability, and risk management across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

* Prepare correspondence, conduct research in relation to the management of FOI Applications.
* Maintain record keeping registers for FOI related matters to ensure compliance.
* Liaise with applicants, and internal staff on FOI matters.
* Provide support for Council's operational and strategic risk management.
* Assist in the development, implementation and training of Council's Business Continuity Plan with relevant staff and maintain sub-plans.
* Provide administration support with systems, processes, testing, training and advice relating to Risk and FOI.


ABOUT YOU


To be successful for this role you'll bring:

* Experience and knowledge in risk management standards and practices, preferably in Local Government.
* FOI, privacy and compliance experience regarded as an advantage.
* Organisational skills, the ability to work to project deadlines while maintaining a strong customer service focus.
* Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail.
* Demonstrated customer service focus and ability to work as part of a team
* Sound communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
