Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for Permanent Part Time employment in a Medical unit.
* The successful applicant will secure employment working either 0.6 - 0.8 of full-time hours.
* A requirement is to contribute to the rotating roster including mornings, afternoons, nights.
About the Role
The Medical Unit offers a variety of opportunities to care for patients with specialised care needs.
This includes rehabilitation, oncology, hematology, and general medicine.
The Medical Unit is a supportive team of Nurses, Doctors and Allied Health staff who work together to care for patients, carers and family whilst they are at Mater hospital.
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, our Registered Nurses make up a vital and respected part of the nursing team at Mater.
* Key duties and responsibilities include:
o Carrying out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients using a structured approach,
o Implementing planned evidence-based nursing interventions within scope of practice,
o Acting as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures,
o Contribute to maintaining an environment which promotes safety, security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups,
o Maintaining and adhering to Infection Control policies and practices,
o Complying with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines,
About You
To be successful in this role you will possess:
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions),
* Minimum of 1 post grad experience working within an acute medical setting,
* High level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management,
* The ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy, multidisciplinary team environment,
* Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate patient care and competency in clinical problem solving,
* Available to work across all shifts,
* Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications and the ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment data,
