Overview

Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is the largest paediatric health care entity in Australia. We care for thousands of children each year in our hospitals and in their homes — with one purpose in mind — to help young people live their healthiest lives.

What you'll be doing

The Telecommunication Support Analyst ensures the reliable, safe and cost‑effective operation of the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN) telecommunications and unified communications setting as part of Digital Health services. The role delivers Level 1 – 2 support and administration for telephony, paging, switchboard/contact‑centre workflows and collaboration tools; performs moves/adds/changes; and coordinates incident resolution and service requests with vendors and eHealth NSW to maintain agreed service levels. The role maintains accurate service records and asset data, contributes to resilience and modernisation initiatives, and ensures compliance with NSW Health policies and standards and supports communication systems that enable high quality, patient‑centred care throughout SCHN. As part of the Digital Health team, this role supports systems operating 24/7 and requires participation in an on‑call support roster to ensure system availability. While not a frontline clinical role, the position requires out‑of‑hours support to maintain continuity of essential services.

About you

We're looking for someone who:

- Tertiary qualifications in ICT, Telecommunication or a related field, and/or equivalent extensive experience, with a record of implementing and supporting enterprise telecommunication solutions in a large and complex services environment.
- Demonstrated experience in the operational support and administration of telephony, SMS, and paging systems, including hands‑on management of enterprise‑grade PABX platforms, voicemail systems, analogue and IP‑based switchboards, SMS gateways, and critical paging infrastructure. Proficient in performing Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs), configuring extensions, call flows, hunt groups, voicemail settings.
- Proven ability to proactively identify and address potential issues before they arise, including defining problems, analysing root causes, and working collaboratively to develop and implement effective solutions. Robust problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the capacity to interpret complex information from multiple sources, prepare insightful reports, think creatively, and deliver practical, business‑focused outcomes.
