About the Role

When money pressure hits hard, people need more than distant advice. As a Financial Counsellor you will step in, steady situations, and help participants navigate financial crises and build capability. This role provides frontline impact and is part of a newly funded program growing across the Central Coast.

Key Responsibilities

• Help people navigate debt, fines, and unpaid financial obligations.
• Assist people to build resilience, financial security, and independence.
• Walk alongside program participants to navigate financial crisis and build capability.
• Provide critical support and guidance to relieve financial stress.
• Advocate and represent the voice of those in financial crisis.
• Negotiate with creditors, banks and support services.
• Maintain strong administration and case‐management processes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma of Financial Counselling (or currently working towards it).
• Membership or eligibility with the Financial Counsellors' Association of NSW.
• Ability to navigate sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.
• Strong administration and case‐management skills.
• Calm, steady, non‐judgemental approach under pressure.
• Confidence negotiating with creditors, banks and support services.
