About the Role
When money pressure hits hard, people need more than distant advice. As a Financial Counsellor you will step in, steady situations, and help participants navigate financial crises and build capability. This role provides frontline impact and is part of a newly funded program growing across the Central Coast.
Key Responsibilities
- Help people navigate debt, fines, and unpaid financial obligations.
- Assist people to build resilience, financial security, and independence.
- Walk alongside program participants to navigate financial crisis and build capability.
- Provide critical support and guidance to relieve financial stress.
- Advocate and represent the voice of those in financial crisis.
- Negotiate with creditors, banks and support services.
- Maintain strong administration and case‐management processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma of Financial Counselling (or currently working towards it).
- Membership or eligibility with the Financial Counsellors' Association of NSW.
- Ability to navigate sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.
- Strong administration and case‐management skills.
- Calm, steady, non‐judgemental approach under pressure.
- Confidence negotiating with creditors, banks and support services.
